Sounds & Bites

Live-music in our Grand Café

Every Friday evening between 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., Sounds & Bites takes place in the Grand Café. This means enjoying live music from Jord Brinkhuis, Marije de Vries, Hester Tadema, and other talented artists. Check out this page to see which artists are performing at our venue, who they are, and what they do, and check our calendar to see who's playing this weekend!

In addition, we have a live DJ in our Grand Café every last Sunday of the month! These deep house DJs create a relaxed and cozy atmosphere, perfect for kicking off the evening. The DJs, including artists such as Llout and Monsieur Dupon, create a mix of great beats that fill the Grand Café with a relaxed vibe. It's the perfect opportunity to relax while the music plays in the background. Come by and experience it for yourself!

Ilan Palstra

Ilan Palstra, better known by his stage name ILANOIS, has started a cover project under the name PALLIE. The versatile troubadour and singer, with a broad repertoire ranging from timeless classics by The Beatles to the modern sounds of Billie Eilish, knows how to turn every performance into a special experience with his unique style and warm voice.

Thanks to his years of experience, PALLIE has a keen sense of what a setting needs. Deep musical roots in his own project ILANOIS, with which he has achieved great success both nationally and internationally, give him not only a rich musical background, but also the passion and authenticity that resonates in every performance.

Hester Tadema

Hester Tadema is originally from Katlijk, but now lives in Joure. Music has played a major role in her life since primary school. In recent years, she has played in various bands and worked on various musical projects. She now performs as a solo artist and releases her own work, including her single “Her Smile.” Hester also plays regularly at Post-Plaza, where she always enjoys performing.

Mario Kramer

Mario Kramer loves making music. He has been performing with all kinds of (very) diverse bands since he was 14, and in 2010 he started performing solo. These performances consist of a repertoire of classics from rock, soul, folk, country, and pop history, supplemented with contemporary hits and, where applicable, his own work.

On the menu (set list) you will find his musical heroes, such as Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, CCR, Sam Cooke, and Johnny Cash. But there are also courses (songs) by Amy Winehouse, George Ezra, and Avicii! Fans of Dutch pop will also find something to their liking, and occasionally there is even a Frisian-language dish (song). Something for everyone!

The ingredients Kramer uses for solo performances are his voice, acoustic guitar, harmonica, and a “loop station” for some extra layers and flavor. ;-)

Sietze Bouma

Sietze Bouma grew up in a musical family, which inspired him to learn to play the guitar at the age of 12. His current sound is characterized by clear tones, rich chords, and tasteful solos. He developed as a guitarist in bands such as Not Shakespeare and Spotrockers, and founded the acoustic trio Madera. In July 2011, he made his solo debut with an album presented by Harry Sacksioni. He also performed with Sacksioni and Australian Tommy Emmanuel. Sietze's experiences are reflected in his guitar lessons, in which he helps students improve without losing the joy of playing.

Socials:

Tim Tells

Tim Tells is the red-haired West Frisian singer-songwriter who writes headstrong, hit-worthy songs and plays covers from the heart. With his voice and acoustic guitar, he takes the listener on a journey through the thoughts, feelings, memories, and stories he has gathered while walking the path of life. He travels to his inner world, his family history, and processes this between performances in new music, in which he increasingly becomes who he is. He wraps these stories in songs that are both earthy and spiritual in character. Always easy listening.

Jord Brinkhuis

Jord Brinkhuis is a singer and songwriter from The Hague. His musical journey began at the age of 10, when he played Nirvana songs on guitar. At the age of 17, he started writing music and played in a metal band with his brother and cousins. After completing his Bachelor of Music at the Academy for Pop Culture in Leeuwarden, he focused on songwriting and also wrote for the dance industry in 2019. Under the name ‘Jay Mason’, he has released more than 300 songs, with a catalogue that has over half a billion streams. Jord also performs regularly as a troubadour, for example, monthly at Post-Plaza for more than 10 years, with a repertoire from the TOP 2000.
