Haute Bordure: in the embroidery exhibition, the revival of the craft at major fashion houses and contemporary designers is placed in historical perspective through four centuries of embroidery. Clothing and accessories from the own collection are supplemented with many historical and contemporary creations by designers such as Viktor & Rolf, Jan Taminiau and Claes Iversen.
Contemporary art: the Fries Museum a major contemporary exhibition with work by the internationally renowned Taus Makhacheva (Moscow, 1983). In objects, films and installations, Makhacheva reflects on rituals, celebrations and the unusual in the everyday, with playful and humorous undertones. Almost all works are on display in the Netherlands for the first time.
